The Chicago Fire hiatus ended Wednesday night with a new episode called The Wrong Guy.
Paramedic Lyla Novak (Jocelyn Hudon) was introduced in the previous episode as the new partner for Violet Mikami (Hanako Greensmith).
Novak stepped in after Chief Boden (Eamonn Walker) sent Jared Lennox (Wesam Keesh) packing. Lennox didn’t fit at Firehouse 51, as the team sought a replacement for Sylvie Brett (Kara Killmer).
Violet wasn’t sure about Novak at first, but she was won over by Novak’s skills in the field and outgoing personality.
Rome Flynn has also departed from the Chicago Fire cast. He played firefighter Jake Gibson, the character replacing Blake Gallo (Alberto Rosende).
More casting changes are in store this season, so be ready One Chicago fans.

[Warning: The following contains Major spoilers for Mary & George Episode 4, “The Wolf & The Lamb.”] Tony Curran‘s King James gave his heart to George Villiers in Mary & George Episode 4… literally. The Scottish King of England brought Nicholas Galitzine‘s George to his homeland for the purpose of digging up the embalmed heart of his first great love, Lord Lennox, encased in an iron ring. Lennox and James had the same age difference as James and George, viewers learned in the Friday, April 26 episode. James learned a lot from his older lover, though everyone around him at the time feared that the love wasn’t real between them, that James was being used. But their concern wasn’t for James’ true wellbeing, rather for the sake of the monarch and how his wellbeing affects everybody else. James fears that no one can love him as deeply and truly as Lennox, but he pours his heart out to...

Cinema for Gaza, a group launched by a small group of female filmmakers and film journalists, has successfully raised more than $315,000 to support medical aid for the civilian population in Gaza.
A celebrity auction, organized by Cinema for Gaza, and supported by the likes of Tilda Swinton, Annie Lennox, Joaquin Phoenix, Spike Lee and Guillermo del Toro, raised some $316,778 (£254,297) for Medical Aid for Palestinians (Map), a U.K.-based charity that provides on-the-ground medical support, from sterile water to cancer drugs, for those on the Gaza Strip. The celebrities donated personal items — from signed film posters to personal Zoom chats to, in the case of Lennox, the handwritten lyrics to her Eurythmics hit “Sweet Dreams” — to be sold off to the highest bidder. (Lennox’s lyrics sheet was the top seller, with a bidder paying $26,222 for the piece of pop music history).

Joni Mitchell performed Elton John’s “I’m Still Standing” at the Library of Congress 2024 Gershwin Prize for Popular Song ceremony, which took place last month at Dar Revolution Hall in Washington, D.C., and aired last night, April 8, on PBS. Her rendition included lyrical twists to fit her own style, with the approval of the night’s honorees, John and Bernie Taupin.

Elton John and Bernie Taupin were honored with the prestigious Gershwin Prize for Popular Song in a ceremony that aired Monday night (April 8th) on PBS. Among the acts who performed in their honor were Metallica, Joni Mitchell, Annie Lennox, Garth Brooks, Brandi Carlile, and more.
The ceremony actually took place on March 20th at the Dar Constitution Hall in Washington, D.C., and also featured Garth Brooks, Charlie Puth, Maren Morris, Jacob Lusk, and host Billy Porter.
Among the highlights were Metallica performing “Funeral for a Friend” and “Love Lies Bleeding”; Mitchell singing her own unique version of “I’m Still Standing” with Carlile and Lennox; Porter performing “The Bitch Is Back”; and more.
Elton John himself closed out the night with performances of “Mona Lisa and Mad Hatters,” “Saturday Night’s Alright for Fighting” and “Your Song” joined by Taupin.

Even on a day when much of America was hoping to see the sun go out, there’s still an ongoing need to hear someone sing “Don’t Let the Sun Go Down on Me.” That, among many other things, is what’s offered in tonight’s PBS broadcast of a tribute special for Elton John and Bernie Taupin, two of the worthiest talents ever to be awarded the Library of Congress’ Gershwin Prize. If you’re a fan — and who isn’t?, as they say — the two-hour show will provide a total eclipse of all your other most pressing entertainment needs.
Three words: “Joni Mitchell” and “Metallica.” If this salute never moved out of the M’s, it would be worthy enough just based on those two highlights alone, neither of whom probably seemed like the likeliest Elton interpreter. But there they are, on the very same bingo card.

Chicago Fire Season 12, Episode 9, aired Wednesday night and featured a flush of new and returning characters at the firehouse.
The new Chicago Fire episode packed the information in during its first few moments. Through chats between people from Firehouse 51, viewers got updates on many storylines.
Sylvie Brett is enjoying her time in Portland, despite it raining a lot there. Mouch talked with one of their patients as he continued running the paramedicine route.
A quick discussion about firefighter Jake Gibson taking care of himself off-screen was had, with Stella Kidd and Sam Carver worrying about him. He left the firehouse during the previous episode due to a drug problem.
Chief Boden’s son Jimmy (Stephen Ruffin) is back. Recently, he began living with his dad in Chicago and took on jobs as a driver and a report filer for the firehouse. This means more scenes to come featuring him and his dad.

Does anyone smell acetone?
Okay, we'll admit that this episode of Chicago Fire was a little better than some of the others this season have been.
There was at least some cohesiveness and a theme, and we got a few moments that suggested what may lie ahead for the rest of the season.
On Chicago Fire Season 12 Episode 9, we zeroed in on a few distinct relationships: Chief Boden and James, Violet and newcomer Rosie, and Mouch and a strange patient from the Paramedicine program named Kathy.
Others on the cast got minimal screen time throughout this episode except for Severide and Van Meter, who worked together to solve an arson case with some twists and turns.
Having been on for more than a decade, this show has explored tons of relationships. But none have been quite so captivating as the bond between Chief Boden and his stepson, James.

The new Chicago Fire episode will have Kelly Severide working with Tom Van Meter again.
Captain Van Meter is a commander and arson investigator for the Chicago Fire Department’s Office of Fire Investigation (Ofi).
When Ofi becomes part of an episode, fans already know that it means a suspicious fire has happened.
Van Meter is featured in the April 3 episode called Something About Her. Actor Tim Hopper returns to play the character, giving “Fire Cop” a chance to shine with him.
This will serve as Chicago Fire Season 12, Episode 9, leaving just four more new episodes after it to debut this spring.
“Severide, Kidd, and Van Meter investigate a fire at a recording studio. Kylie helps James keep a secret from Boden. Mouch struggles to maintain boundaries with a paramedicine client,” reads the Chicago Fire synopsis for April 3.

The Chicago Fire cast has revealed a new actress joining the show for Season 12.
Presumably, this new person could wind up as the partner to Violet Mikami (Hanako Greensmith).
Losing Sylvie Brett (Kara Killmer) has been difficult for Firehouse 51. Her replacement was shoehorned into the firehouse by the new paramedic chief.
It turned out that Chief Robinson was trying to send a message to the firehouse and Chief Boden and that she wanted to replace the “old guard” in Chicago.
Jared Lennox (Wesam Keesh) surfaced as Violet’s new partner and frequently questioned her medical choices in the field.
The situation between Lennox and Violet escalated to the point where he reported her as being “aggressive” and “disrespectful” on the job.
When Boden pushed Lennox out of the firehouse, Robinson showed up to give him a piece of her mind. And now it means a new paramedic for Firehouse 51 again.

Well, I'm just going to say it.
This season? Not the best.
Chicago Fire Season 12 Episode 8 was not an improvement over the previous, only making the longer-term story more aggravating and uncertain.
There is good news, of course, and it does make you want to pop the champagne.
Lennox is gone. Ding dong, the dingdong is gone.
The guy was, sorry to say, an idiot. He got swept up with a powerful character in the Cfd who offered him who knows what without paying any regard to his own future.
And if the guy wasn't already 100% annoying, he spent the episode contradicting himself.
I'm hoping that we can both be professional about this. Despite what you might think, Robinson is an amazing woman and an inspiring leader. She believes in following protocol, and so do I. Might not always win you a popularity contest, but doing the right thing is...

Chicago Fire introduced a new paramedic during the latest episode. It has already caused drama at Firehouse 51.
It was clear that things would get tricky after Sylvie Brett left the job, but the new Paramedic In Charge, Violet Mikami, couldn’t find a rhythm with the new person sitting next to her in Ambulance 61.
Wesam Keesh has joined the Chicago Fire cast as Jared Lennox. The character seems to know his stuff but also has a penitent for asking questions at the wrong time.
During one call, Lennox let the wife of their patient know that Violet was new to the job. It caused the woman to question Violet’s abilities.
Violet appeared very stressed that Lennox was undermining her, and when she chastised him about it later, she also told Lennox he had received his second strike on the job.

[Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for Chicago Fire Season 11 Episode 7 “Red Flag.”] Listen, Firehouse 51 has had to deal with problems and people coming after them before. But there’s something about the latest threat on Chicago Fire that has us especially worried. Following Kara Killmer‘s exit, no one was going to be able to fill Brett’s shoes on Ambulance 61. Even the new paramedic, Lennox, acknowledged that and said he “would never even try.” But before he even showed up, we had reason to be concerned about who would be joining Paramedic in Charge Violet (Hanako Greeensmith), and every single part of the latest episode confirmed we were right to be. Chief Robinson (Laura Allen) not only gave Violet zero input on her new partner or a heads up on who it is, she also didn’t ...

A new episode of Chicago Fire introduced a new character.
Following the exit of Sylvie Brett (played by Kara Killmer), the show introduced a fresh face at Firehouse 51.
It was a bumpy ride for the new paramedic in charge while it was her first time being the boss.
Violet Mikami (Hanako Greensmith) was promoted to a bigger role at the house but was also concerned that the new paramedic chief had it in for her.
Violet was faced with the new paramedic just showing up at the firehouse before even being contacted by their boss.
Before she could explain how she wanted things done or even give him a tour of the house, the alarms went off.

Uh, no.
Who didn't know as soon as Chief Robinson was introduced that she was going to be trouble?
Well, Chicago Fire Season 12 Episode 7 just proved it.
What do all of you do in your lives?
Do you make it your business to tear down any and everything that you don't understand, agree with, or condone, no matter who it affects?
I sure as hell hope not. It's such a miserable place to be, and it's been a guiding light of this series since Chicago Fire Season 1.
Well before we knew this place like the backs of our hands, people had been trying to destroy it. It could be ironic that first responders and rescuers are always under attack, but instead, it's just annoying.
It's natural to revisit storylines on long-running shows, but the number of times people have infiltrated Firehouse 51 to hurry along its demise is alarming.

There are three-alarm fires,...

The Chicago Fire cast has a new paramedic working with Violet Mikami.
Following Sylvie Brett’s exit from Firehouse 51, Violet has to be assigned a new partner on Ambulance 61.
Actress Kara Killmer played Brett for years but has now moved on to other things.
Kara teased what’s next for her in a new interview.
But the show must go on. And that means Violet has to have someone sitting next to her on medical calls.
The showrunner previously revealed that there are bumps ahead, and she also hinted that Violet could have several new people who try to fill Brett’s shoes.

“How to Get to Heaven From Belfast,” the new series from “Derry Girls” creator Lisa McGee, has moved to Netflix from Channel 4.
Produced by Hat Trick Productions, the comedy thriller will start shooting in Northern Ireland later this year.
The project was announced by Channel 4 in August 2023. In a statement to Variety, the network cited “changes in editorial direction” and “rising costs” as to why the series could no longer move forward there.
“We loved Lisa McGee’s ‘How to Get to Heaven From Belfast’ and offered a substantial license fee to be its U.K. home,” a Channel 4 spokesperson said. “Unfortunately due to changes in editorial direction as the development process progressed, coupled with rising costs and the recent cooling in the U.S. co-production market, it became impossible to get the right international partner and funding plan in place. It’s hard to imagine Ambulance 61 without Sylvie Brett (Kara Killmer) after she’s been a staple there since Season 3. But now, Chicago Fire, in its 12th season, is moving forward without her—in Killmer’s last episode, Brett married Casey (Jesse Spencer) and moved with him to Portland—and that means someone has to join Violet (Hanako Greensmith). A photo for the March 27 episode, “All the Dark,” shows Wesam Keesh as Lennox, working alongside Violet (check it out above), and Dick Wolf fans will recognize him: He played hacker Malachi on Law & Order: Organized Crime! Through Svu‘s crossovers with One Chicago, Fire and Organized Crime are technically in the same universe, but he’d be far from the first person to play multiple characters across Dick Wolf shows (or on the same one!). But is Lennox sticking around? As executive producer Andrea Newman told TV Insider ahead of Season 12’s premiere,...

Stevie Wonder opened the In Memoriam segment of the 66th Grammy Awards, giving tribute to Tony Bennett before performing alongside a recording of the man and showing those who we lost last year. More names, such as Gary Rossington and Sinead O’Connor, appeared before Lennox called for peace around the world. After that, the carousel of names on faces began to cycle through, with names like Clarence Avant appearing. Lenny Kravitz then came to honor the pioneer as a music executive and the “Black Godfather” of entertainment. Another performance began, this time featuring Jon Batiste with a rendition of “Lean on Me.” DJ Mark and Gangsta Boo from Three 6 Mafia and Magoo were also mentioned. Finally, Oprah Winfrey came out to give a tribute to Tina Turner, following Mylie Cyrus‘ performance,...

Did Charlotte end up with the right guy in the end? Over three seasons of PBS’s Sanditon, Rose Williams’ character had no shortage of love interests, from the dashing Sidney Parker to her brooding employer Alexander Colbourne. But some stood head and shoulders above the rest. Here’s our ranking of Charlotte’s love interests in Sanditon.
[Warning: This article contains major spoilers for the series finale of Sanditon.]
5. Colonel Lennox (Tom Weston-Jones)
When Charlotte first met Colonel Lennox (Tom Weston-Jones) in season 2, it seemed like he might be a viable love interest. He was charming and urbane and he paid Charlotte a lot of attention, sending her flowers and flattering her whenever they met. But his true nature soon emerged. He ran up debts at every Sanditon business (shades of Wickham in Pride & Prejudice) and nearly ruined Tom Parker (Kris Marshall) by encouraging him to gamble. Then, he assaulted Charlotte at a ball, offering a glimpse at his violent nature.

This story about “Physical” first appeared in the Comedy & Drama Series issue of TheWrap’s awards magazine.
Olivia Newton-John sang of the rewards of getting physical in the early 1980s, but costume designer Kameron Lennox knows there is much more to her job than busting out the pastel-colored leotards and throwing on a few choice headbands. In the case of AppleTV+’s “Physical”, starring Rose Byrne as a people-pleasing fitness enthusiast who seeks to make herself a brand while juggling aid to her needy, would-be-politician husband (Rory Scovel), raising a daughter and secretly trying to keep an eating disorder at bay, the key thing was simply making sure everything, as Olivia also sang, let the body talk.
