Watchable, but somewhat generic...
The reason why I sat down to watch "The Oh In Ohio" from 2006 were because this was a movie that I hadn't already seen, but I can't claim that the synopsis was one that sounded all that interesting. But the movie also had Paul Rudd and Keith David on the cast list, so that was a plus.
And while writers Sarah Bird, Billy Kend and Adam Wierzbianski managed to put together a watchable movie, the storyline told in "The Oh In Ohio" was just a bit too generic and bland for my liking. There simply wasn't enough drive or sass to the movie.
The acting performances in "The Oh In Ohio" were good, but this was by no means a milestone for Paul Rudd. And it was a shame that Keith David only had a minor role to play in the movie. It was fun, though, to see Danny DeVito in the role that he had in "The Oh In Ohio", for sure. And it was also a blast to see Liza Minelli pop up in the movie and in such a role as she did.
Ultimately then "The Oh In Ohio" was a watchable, but a somewhat forgettable movie. Director Billy Kent didn't make a lasting impression on me with this 2006 movie. And while I managed to sit through it, this is hardly a movie that I will ever be returning to watch a second time.
My rating of "The Oh In Ohio" lands on a very bland five out of ten stars.
